Embracer unveiled its results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2020. With no major release from its own studios despite an ever-growing family and an increasingly crowded calendar, the parent company of THQ Nordic, Deep Silver, Coffee Stain and Saber Interactive closed the year with increasing turnover but declining profit.

Embracer did not release a headline to end its fiscal year while Metro Exodus pulled its results up a year earlier by generating 58 million euros just for the month of March 2019. Despite this, the figure The video game business achieved its second best turnover between January and March 2020, partly thanks to the releases of Darksiders Genesis on PS4 / Xbox One, the Sam's Story extension for Metro Exodus and Monster Energy Supercross 3 . Older titles like Wreckfest (whose total sales have exceeded one million copies), Deep Rock Galactic , Kingdom Come: Deliverance ,Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Outward have also made notable contributions. In the first quarter of 2020, Embracer also noted a record proportion of sales in downloads (78%), largely due to containment measures.

Taking into account the recent acquisition of Saber Interactive, the Embracer group currently has 118 games in production under its wing, of which 69 have not yet been announced, this figure of course including a good number of titles that the group's subsidiaries are just publishing. In this catalog are notably Desperados 3 , Biomutant , Chorus , Destroy All Humans , Iron Harvest , MotoGP 20 , Ride 4 , Wasteland 3 or WWE2K Battlegrounds. But the objective of Embracer is also to release at least one AAA game each year from the exercise going from April 2021 to March 2022. It is suddenly during this window that the next Saints Row will be released and not this fiscal year as you might think.

Embracer, which has just raised more than 150 million additional euros to finance future acquisitions, is now composed of five subsidiaries which are free to act independently: THQ Nordic, Koch Media, Coffee Stain, Amplifier Game Invest and Saber Interactive. This family represents more than 3,500 developers. Note that Amplifier Game Invest now includes 10 young studios, including the acquisition of DESTINYbit , an Italian studio of 4 people working on Dice Legacy , a city builder built on a dice mechanism.

If it is not part of the exercise concerned here, Embracer revealed during its teleconference that the Saber Interactive SnowRunner has already exceeded management expectations with close to a million sales in three weeks, the performance of the game being more or less similar between the three platforms (PS4, Xbox One, Epic Games Store).
