Google Gemini AI Is Coming to TVs with Google TV Integration

Google’s Gemini AI assistant is officially making its way to televisions. On Monday, the company announced that Google TV will soon integrate Gemini, allowing users to interact with artificial intelligence through natural, conversational dialogue on their TVs.

Once the rollout is complete, Gemini’s expansion to this new platform will extend its reach to over 300 million active devices running on Google TV and Android TV OS.

Smarter TV Experiences with Gemini

According to Google, Gemini will enhance how families and individuals discover and enjoy entertainment together. For example:

  • Personalized content selection – Gemini can help users with different preferences find shows or movies they’ll both enjoy.
  • Recap and catch-up – It can summarize key storylines from earlier seasons of a series so viewers can jump right back in.
  • Smart search – When you can’t remember a movie or show’s name, Gemini can help identify it.
  • Reviews and recommendations – Users can ask Gemini for opinions on a title to decide if it’s worth watching.

But Gemini isn’t limited to TV-related tasks. Just like on smartphones, it can handle a wide range of requests:

  • Helping kids with homework or brainstorming school projects
  • Assisting families in planning their next trip
  • Guiding individuals in learning a new skill

Google noted that the addition of Gemini doesn’t mean existing Google Assistant voice commands will disappear—traditional commands will continue to work as usual.
