In my opinion, the home projector is better. First of all, let's think about it, how much time do you spend watching TV? How many TV boxes are used for watching TV? Now basically everyone owned a smartphone, and few people actually watch TV, and most use computers to watch some TV shows and movies. So why buy a TV that you don't watch actually?
In particular, smart TVs are more expensive. An 80-inch TV costs nearly 1500$, while a home projector can easily cast a 100-inch screen for only about 400$, which is extremely cost-effective.
So for home projectors, I am very optimistic about their role in replacing smart TVs in the future. I also highly recommend that you buy one and you will enjoy it at home.
