ALPD5.0 laser technology released​

It is reported that the ALPD5.0 principle prototype has entered the product development process and is currently undergoing more in-depth optimization work, and the C-terminal application optical machine will be available in 2023 at the earliest.

In addition, ALPD technology is becoming more and more amazing in terms of color performance, especially ALPD5.0. The biggest upgrade of 5.0 technology is in color performance. Generally speaking, the larger the screen, the more obvious the human eye's perception of color is. Whether the large-screen display is good or not, color is very important. The reason why AOLED screens became the first choice for mobile phone screen materials is that as mobile phone screens become larger and larger. It was found to have richer colors and a better display.

It is easy to judge whether the display effect is good or not. In fact, it is whether the brightness and contrast are high or not, and whether the colors are rich or not. It is reported that the color performance of ALPD5.0 has reached the maximum color gamut visible to the human eye. The wider the color gamut, the richer the color of the displayed picture.

Cost issue

A key prerequisite for a technology to be applied on a large scale is cost. Everyone knows that the previous laser TVs were very expensive, the core reason being the high cost of light-emitting modules. According to estimates, the cost of the three-color laser light source module is more than 8 times the cost of the ALPD light source module. In terms of physical structure, ALPD has higher luminous efficiency. Compared with the traditional RGB three-color laser display, under the same display effect, the overall cost is lower, and it is easier to apply on a large scale.

The essence of the cost problem is a technical problem, as well as a problem of application scenarios. After the ALPD technology further solves the problem of laser display, the application scenarios will be further expanded. Appotronics plans to launch two technology versions, Pro for flagship professional needs, and Lite, which is more cost-effective. The products for the C-end consumer market will be launched next year.

The consumer market for home projection is large enough. Once mature, it will further promote the scale of the laser display market. In addition, in addition to the traditional business education market, the business application scenarios of the B-side of laser display technology are also expanding.
