How high is the TV from the ground?

After buying a TV, many people do not know how high the TV is generally off the ground, or what is the best size of the TV they bought from the ground. If the hanging is too high, the user needs to keep looking up at the TV; if the hanging is too low, the user needs to keep looking down at the TV. This article will provide a reference table for the height of the TV from the ground, and I hope it can help you.

The eye level height when a person is sitting is 110cm. When the TV is mounted on the wall, the height of the center point of the TV screen should be the same as the height of the eye level.

Best Mounting Heights for Different TV sizes

1. For a 55-inch TV, the recommended height is 80cm from the ground;

2. For a 65-inch TV, the recommended height is 70cm from the ground;

3. For a 75-inch TV, the recommended height is 65cm from the ground;

4. For an 85-inch TV, the recommended height is 55cm from the ground;

5. For a 98-inch TV, the recommended height is 45cm from the ground.

The above heights are close to the eye-level viewing angle. If the viewer is taller, or more inclined to look up, you can add 5-10cm on this basis, and vice versa, you can reduce 5-10cm.

However, some users pointed out that if the TV is mounted on the wall according to the 110cm eye level, the best experience cannot be achieved when standing watching TV or doing sports. Therefore, it is also suggested that a 55-75-inch TV can maintain a height of 130-140cm from the ground.

In addition to the height of the TV from the ground, the standards of TV size and viewing distance are also concern by many users. We can simply refer to the table below.

TV viewing distance reference

55-65 inch TV viewing distance 2.0-2.5m;

65-75 inch TV viewing distance 2.5-3.2m;

75-85 inch TV viewing distance 3.0-3.5m;

85 inches or more TV viewing distance of more than 3.5m. For more TV size, use the TV size calculator to measure it.

Projection viewing distance reference

84-inch projection viewing distance 2.0-2.5m;

100-inch projection viewing distance 2.5-3.0m;

120-inch projection viewing distance 3.0-3.5m;

150-inch projection viewing distance of more than 3.5m.

It can be seen from this that under the premise of the same screen size, the viewing distance required by the TV is far greater than the viewing distance required by the projection. This means that TVs need more space, and projectors can bring users a more immersive viewing experience within a limited range as much as possible.
