Reports suggest that Samsung's XR device has faced a setback due to the emergence of Apple's Vision Pro headset, prompting Samsung to delay its production until June of next year.

The launch of Apple's Vision Pro headset seems to have prompted competitors, including Samsung, to reevaluate their own product designs. Rumors indicate that Samsung has postponed the release date of its XR headset in order to better compete with the Vision Pro.

According to information from the leaker Revegnus, the initial production schedule for Samsung's AR device has been pushed back to June of next year. This delay is attributed to the superior display capabilities offered by Apple's Vision Pro. Even if Samsung were to launch its device in June, it might not be immediately available for purchase and could be limited to specific regions.

It's been reported that Samsung had abandoned the prototype devices it was previously developing. According to previous leaks, these prototypes were equipped with the older Exynos 2200 chip, which was originally designed for the Galaxy S22 smartphone series. However, the chip exhibited low efficiency and heating issues. Unlike the Vision Pro, these prototypes included an internal battery rather than an external power module. Whether the commercial version of Samsung's device will retain this design or switch to an external power module to reduce weight remains unclear.

Currently, there are many questions surrounding Samsung's AR device, and it's hoped that more leaks and rumors will emerge to unveil its mysterious features. By that time, Apple's Vision Pro may have already been available for sale in numerous countries.
