Klipsch is giving the Reference Premiere III range its full debut at Audio Advice Live in Raleigh this weekend, after showing it early at CES back in January. The main home theatre demo is a 7.4.4 built from four RP-8203F floorstanders, four RP-1600CSW subwoofers and four in-ceiling height channels, driven by Onkyo's TX-RZ70 eleven channel flagship. There is a second room pairing the limited 80th anniversary Klipschorn with the Heritage active crossover, which is the one I would queue for.
Four subs in a hotel demo room is the bit worth chewing on. Multiple subs are genuinely the right answer for even bass across more than one seat, and anyone who has moved from one sub to two knows the difference is not about level, it is about the seat next to yours no longer being wrong. But four of them in a treated demo space also flattens every room problem the speakers might otherwise reveal, and you walk out having heard the subs as much as the towers.
No pricing, no driver detail and no sensitivity figures have come out with any of this yet, so the range is still a shape rather than a product. The Klipsch question is always the same anyway: how the horn behaves off axis and how hot the top end runs once you are past the show floor and into a small room with hard walls.
