According to Techspot, Netflix has prepared a complete movie list for 2022, with no less than 80 movies of various genres. That means, on average, more than one new movie per week, and hopefully justifies the company's recent price increasing.

The streaming leader recently released a preview trailer for its 2022 movie, highlighting films starring a number of high-profile actors, including Day Shift, starring Jamie Foxx; Hustle, starring Adam Sandler; You People, starring Jonah Hill, Eddie Murphy and Julia Louis-Dreyfus; and The Gray Man, starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans.

Netflix has been investing heavily in original content to stay ahead of the competition, and 2022 looks to be no different. Netflix is expected to spend more than $17 billion on content this year, according to a Financial Times report late last year. If true, that would be 25% more than spending in 2021 and 57% more than spending on content in 2020.

Netflix said in its most recent earnings report that it had 222 million paying subscribers in more than 190 countries, of which 8.3 million were added in the fourth quarter. That wasn't enough to appease investors worried about growing competition from rivals like Amazon and Disney. A massive stock sell-off began, with Netflix shares falling from $508.25 before the news to $397.50 a day later.

What do you think about the increasing Netflix price? Do you still have the membership?
