We suffered a lot in the first quarter of 2020, at the same time, some new technology are comming up right now. What will What new TV technologies will 2020 bring?

Understanding of science and technology circle of friends, I'm afraid for the International Consumer Electronics Show (International Consumer Electronics Show), also is our common CES will surely not unfamiliar, this exhibition at the beginning of each year will be held in Las Vegas, the coming CES 2020 will be the 52nd, almost every manufacturer in the world in the CES Show their power.

In this year's CES 2020, coincided with 5G commercial around the world, there will always be some of the new technology, new products in the future will have far-reaching influence, such as television, may this year we can see the future ten years technical core of the show, such as the new display technology, 8 k, the new interface and so on, the following author with forecasting means, to help you comb comb will appear at CES 2020 TV new technology.

1. Samsung sets the 8K industry standard

Actually, 8K is not a new topic, but there has been a lot of debate about it, but just before CES 2020, samsung electronics and the 8K Association (8KA) launched a certification program in the 8K field.

Main can identify the authentication of the related equipment, including 8 k TV, from the standard point of view, was more strict, first of all, a television product must have four times the 4 k TV pixels, can be 8 k association accreditation program, second, the screen resolution to reach 7680 by 4320, peak of more than 600 nits brightness, support HDMI 2.1 and efficient video decoder (HVEC). Only when all is passed can it be called a true 8K TV.

Samsung 8K

There are a lot of friend I'm afraid I don't know for 8 k association, in fact, 8 k association was founded in 2018 CES, it is by some of the world's leading manufacturers of display technology, its purpose is to the consumer and professional promotion 8 k and 8 k TV video related content, promoting the development of 8 k, at the beginning of the creation, 8 k association members are: au optronics, panasonic, samsung electronics, TCL electronic and so on, until now, member of the association of 8 k number has reached 22.

Although samsung and the 8K association set an industry certification standard of 8K, not all manufacturers accept it, samsung's old rival LG has a different view.

2. LG has different views

As another "bosses" on television, LG on the issue of certification of 8 k and samsung already had several exchanges, the IFA show in 2019, LG to emphasise their launch the NanoCell 8 k TV is "real" 8 k, the Contrast of the TV (Contrast Modulation, CM) reached 90%, and samsung QLED CM value of 8 k TV only 12%, far less than 50% of the 8 k standard minimum Contrast threshold Modulation.

In fact, the consumer technology association of America (CTA) has announced the 8K ultra hd television industry accreditation standards and official accreditation logo, to help retailers and consumers identify the 8K ultra hd requirements that meet the technical accreditation. This is where LG's argument that samsung's QLED 8K TV is not "true 8K" comes from.

For these two TV industry giants, the fight for 8K certification is also a battle that can't be stopped for years to come, but for consumers, it means 8K TV is here to stay.

QD-OLED+Micro LED display technology change

In the TV industry, the innovation of display technology has been uninterrupted, in recent years, QLED, OLED is we repeatedly mentioned, but in the future will be their world?

In fact, although OLED has high contrast, but the burning problem is still very deadly, and QLED is still essentially LED backlight and quantum dot display panel, innovation is limited.

So, in this scenario, the samsung-led qd-oled is born with the same self-illumination, but it overcomes the shortcomings of current OLED and looks like it will have a better future. According to the name, qd-oled is a combination of quantum dots and OLED. It USES a blue OLED luminescence layer and a top quantum dot layer to achieve a full-color display technology by converting light to red and green. It can be seen as a more advanced self-illumination technology.

Now, samsung has officially announced that it will spend about $11 billion to develop and produce the qd-oled TV panel, with the first production line set to begin in 2021.

The other Micro LED is a brand new technology besides QLED and OLED. Micro LED is composed of multiple tiny LED arrays. In addition to high brightness, ultra-high resolution and color saturation, each pixel can independently drive and emit light.

However, for the development of this new technology, production, each manufacturer is very cautious, a wrong step, may be headed for the abyss, after all, before the plasma and LED competition, still remember. Still, it's certainly worth looking forward to Micro LED as the next frontier.

In fact, whether it is qd-oled or Micro LED, we are full of confidence in the future of display technology, in the next decade, who can say they will not be in the consumer's living room.

Really no border

Right now, many TV products feature narrow bezels, but right now they don't have extreme bezels. In CES 2020, samsung may change that and bring a truly extreme bezel.

Samsung's bezel-less model, the Q900T or Q950T, will have an 8K screen and will go into production in February 2020, but is expected to be expensive.

Still, it should be no surprise that, led by samsung's ultra-bezel-free TVS, manufacturers in the industry will soon be able to knock off the bezels and make the TV more visually striking.

conclusion

In CES, we can clearly see the layout of each manufacturer. Whether it is the 8K battle or the display technology battle, it is full of manufacturers' imagination for the future. Every innovation in television is likely to bring about big changes in the industry, and there is too much uncertainty for the next decade. Let's start with this year's CES and see what technologies or products will have a big impact over the next decade.
