Characteristics

The Nvidia Shield TV TV box is the renovated version of the one that was released in 2015. With the same design, it is however smaller in size, which makes it prettier and easier to handle.
On the other hand, it imposes itself much more in length and is characterized by more spread out geometric shapes. The Nvidia Shield TV can be installed vertically or horizontally. In addition, it is equipped with ballast inside which makes it quite heavy and prevents it from falling as easily.
On the technical side, it is equipped with 2 USB 3.0 ports which allows it to be connected to a computer, a hard disk or USB keys. It also has an HDMI 2.0 output compatible with 4K HDR as well as an ARC port which replaces an optical port.

Hence, unfortunately, you must have an adequate home theater to connect it from this port. Otherwise, all the ports are at the back, which is partly favorable for the aesthetics, but a little less practical for the installation.

Memories

As for the memory of this TV box, it has an internal storage space of 16 GB. This is more than enough to keep all your applications.
Otherwise, those who do not want to store on a computer, but who nevertheless need a fairly large memory can use an Nvidia Shield pro version. This offers a memory of 500 GB.

Note that with the Nvidia Shield TV, there is no possibility to boost the memory using a Micro-SD card. This is explained by the fact that this location was rarely used by users of the 2015 version. This is quite understandable.

Connectivities

High performance, the Nvidia Shield TV allows you to connect in two different ways. It is possible to connect by wire thanks to the RJ45 cable which is already supplied. In this way, you will be entitled to a speed of 1Gbits.
So if you have an internet box that is right next to it, you can obviously use it. Second option, connection from a Wi-Fi AC. It runs at 867 Mbits, a very efficient speed to compare to other competing TV boxes.
The downloads are done very quickly and no slowdown is seen. For your games, you can use a Bluetooth 4.1 module which allows you to connect a controller or a joystick. Always as effective, the connection is very efficient even when moving away up to around 15 m.

This box is an Android TV 7.0 version. So, there is nothing better in terms of use. Everything is just as easy and the different applications can be stored according to your own convenience. Otherwise, the fluidity is impeccable and no blockage or latency is felt during use.

Interface

The Nvidia Shield TV Box is delivered in a pretty white box containing all the necessary accessories, including the remote control and the joystick. As far as the remote control is concerned, it reflects the superior range of this TV Box. It works with two CR2032 batteries which allow it to stay active for 6 months or more.
It is also equipped with a microphone which makes it possible to use Skype, Google assistant and essentially voice navigation. All the more, this remote control has a tactile zone which makes it possible to control the volume.
It is a very modern remote control which is pleasant to use. As for the controller, it is very complete and has an attractive design. It is fitted with a microphone and a headphone output. And of course, it is rechargeable.
