Philips has now launched its 2023 range of smart TVs, including its new flagship OLED+908, which will arrive later this year. Philips' 2023 OLED TV range includes the OLED708, OLED808 and the flagship OLED908.
All 2023 Philips TVs are equipped with the MediaTek Pentronic 1000 flagship chip and also have an upgraded video chipset (7th generation P5 AI) that can detect lighting conditions with a new XYZ sensor, bringing brightness, gamma and color closer to indoors environment. In addition, Philips' TVs this year have switched from Android TV to the Google TV system, with a sleeker user interface and some exclusive features, such as a children's mode.
The Philips OLED 908 TV uses a "microlens array (MLA)" similar to the compound eye structure of a dragonfly to achieve a peak brightness of 2100nit, which is 70% brighter than the previous generation. In addition, this new machine also has a built-in 80W Bowers & Wilkins3.1 channel sound system, as well as Philips' next-generation "three-sided Ambilight" technology.
The Philips OLED 908 comes with a new remote that has a built-in battery that can also be charged via USB-C. This remote is backlit and has an integrated motion sensor that automatically lights up when you pick it up.
As for the design, Philips OLED 908 TV features a slim dark metal frame with dark Kvadrat Audiomix cloth speaker grilles and new gloss black metal open frame stands.
The Philips OLED808 TV has an extremely thin bezel-less design, with an outer dark metal frame and a new central, elegant metal satin chrome swivel stand (the 77-inch model doesn't have a swivel stand).
The Philips 708 series is the basic model of Philips, which can provide three 4K WOLED panels ranging from 48 inches, 55 inches, and 65 inches, and also supports Dolby Vision and Google TV.
