The keywords of the 2020 console game circle are nothing more than PS5 and Xbox Series X, which also means that PS4 and Xbox One will usher in their own moment of honor after more than 7 years of service.

Recently, the well-known developer theflow0 announced the latest discovery that there is a kernel-level vulnerability on PS4 with a system version not higher than v7.02.

However, the current limitation is that the implementation of the kernel vulnerability needs to anchor the previous WebKit vulnerability, and the WebKit vulnerability is only valid in system versions below v6.72.

PS4 kernel-level vulnerabilities were discovered: stored in version 7.02 and below

According to the information published on the official website of Sony PlayStation, the latest firmware of PS4 is v7.51.
In other words, the current vulnerability of the kernel announced by theflow0 is only valid for PS4 hosts of v6.72 and below. Of course, hackers are still trying on higher system versions.

The loophole means the possibility of PS4 cracking the firmware. Perhaps after Sony puts its main energy into PS5, the security containment of PS4 will be relaxed, and then the players will be able to see the spring.
