In a groundbreaking collaboration with NEXON, Samsung officially launched the world's first HDR10+ game, "The First Descendant." This innovative game is set to make its debut at Gamescom in 2023, marking the first application of the HDR10+ GAMING standard in the gaming world.

The HDR10+ GAMING standard offers players an immersive experience by enhancing contrast, enriching colors, and achieving balanced brightness levels. It brings out accurate details in both dark shadows and bright highlights, elevating the visual quality of games. This standard also boasts near-instant response times, low latency, and support for variable refresh rates, further enhancing the gameplay experience.

In 2018, Samsung co-founded HDR10+ Technologies LLC in collaboration with other companies and was made freely available. HDR10+ has become a cost-free alternative to Dolby Vision. As a result, the HDR10+ ecosystem has flourished, encompassing 155 partners and over 7,000 certified devices.

Hyun Kim, Vice President and Executive Vice President of NEXON's Business Development Division, commented, "By embracing the HDR10+ GAMING standard, we're bringing games to life in ways previously thought impossible. Our partnership with Samsung has also elevated the standards of HDR gaming, and we're excited to lead this new frontier of visual excellence."

The introduction of "The First Descendant" is a testament to the collaborative efforts of Samsung and NEXON in advancing gaming technology. As the gaming community eagerly awaits its debut at the Gamescom, this milestone marks a significant stride toward a new era of visually stunning and captivating gameplay experiences.
