According to the latest report from Korean media, Samsung has already begun the development of a new generation of OLED screens. At the same time, in order to cooperate with production, they have also built their own A3 OLED panel production line. After the upgrade, the A3 OLED panel production line will be able to produce OLED screens with two backplane technologies, and part of the production capacity will be used to produce low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) backplane OLED screens.

It is reported that Samsung is developing a new OLED screen using LTPO backplane technology. LTPO technology will bring a more power-efficient backplane, which is responsible for turning on and off individual pixels on the display.

If the message is true, then this may bring longer battery life and/or new features (such as ProMotion or Always Display Technology) for the next generation iPhone. If Apple plans to provide ProMotion on the iPhone, then LTPO technology is essential, because when the device is inactive, LTPO will allow its refresh rate as low as 1Hz to optimize battery life.

It is reported that Samsung has also developed backplane technology. After the upgrade, the remaining capacity of the A3 OLED panel production line may be used to produce Samsung's own screens.

OLEDs have a great picture quality - brilliant colors, infinite contrast, fast response rate and wide viewing angles. OLEDs can also be used to make OLED lighting - thin, efficient and without any bad metals. OLED TV will increase I think.
