Sony has launched its 2024 lineup of TVs, featuring four models ranging from the flagship mini-LED to entry-level direct-lit LED models. Sony also revealed that some 2023 models (such as the A95L) will continue to be sold until the end of 2024.
The 2024 Sony TV lineup introduces a new naming scheme, all bearing the Bravia label. The flagship product is the Bravia 9 (mini-LED), followed by the Sony Bravia 8 (OLED), corresponding to the upgraded versions of X95L and A80L.
Sony Bravia 9
The Sony Bravia 9 features mini-LED backlighting, with 325% more zones than last year's X95L, offering options in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch sizes:
The Bravia 9 supports Dolby Vision, equipped with Netflix and Sony Pictures' studio calibration modes, and a new Prime Video calibration mode, automatically optimizing picture settings for Prime Video content and adjusting brightness based on ambient light.
In terms of functionality, the Bravia 9 supports 4K 120Hz, VRR, and ALLM, inheriting gaming features from the 2023 models, such as the game menu, "auto color tone," and other features "perfect for PS5," but only includes two HDMI 2.1 ports.
On the audio front, the Bravia 9 features a 2.2.2 speaker system utilizing Sony's Acoustic Multi Audio+ function, adding two new beam tweeters located at the top of the screen, providing more direct and spacious sound. It also includes Voice Zoom 3 (enhances dialogue) and Acoustic Center Sync, synchronizing with compatible Sony soundbars to use the TV as the center speaker. Additionally, the Bravia 9 supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X and is IMAX Enhanced certified.

Positioned as mid-range, the Sony Bravia 8 offers options in 55-inch, 65-inch, and 77-inch sizes. Its brightness is increased by 10% compared to the Sony A80L, similar to the new LG C4 OLED TV.
Sony Bravia 7
The Sony Bravia 7 is an entry-level mini-LED TV, succeeding last year's Sony X90L, boasting 790% higher brightness than the X90L, available in 55, 65, 75, and 85-inch sizes:
Additionally, the Bravia 8, Bravia 9, and 7 are all equipped with Sony's new Eco remote, made from 80% recycled materials, chargeable via USB-C (2-hour full charge), possibly lasting up to 4 months on a single charge (depending on usage).

Regarding gaming, the Bravia 3 only meets some basic requirements, such as a 60Hz refresh rate, lacking VRR support, but it does support features like Perfect for PS5, game menu, and ALLM.
As there are no QD-OLED products in this year's lineup, the Sony A95L remains the flagship QD-OLED model for 2024. Additionally, Sony announced the launch of models such as Z9K, A90K, and X90L in the United States.
