Sony has recently unveiled the price and specifications of its Bravia XR A95L Quantum Dot OLED TV, available in three sizes: 55, 65, and 77 inches, starting at $2800.
The Bravia XR A95L is equipped with the XR Cognitive Processor, as described by Sony: "Traditional AI can only detect and analyze individual elements of the image, such as color, contrast, and clarity, enhancing each element separately. However, our brains perceive the world based on various signals received from the eyes and ears. The Cognitive Processor XR™ works similarly, cross-analyzing hundreds of thousands of elements, including what humans tend to focus on. By analyzing each element, including the focus, the processor generates depth information and adjusts each part to create the most immersive and lifelike picture."
Sony claims the Bravia XR is the "brightest OLED ever" with brightness levels up to 200% compared to previous models. The XR 4K upscaling technology accesses a vast database to intelligently restore lost textures and details, providing near-4K image quality for all content and sources. The Bravia XR A95L also supports Creator Calibration Mode, IMAX Enhanced, and Dolby Vision.
In terms of gaming features, the BRAVIA XR offers two exclusive PS5 functions: Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.
With "Auto HDR Tone Mapping," the BRAVIA XR optimizes HDR settings during the initial setup of the PS5, delivering exquisite details and realistic colors even in dark shadows or bright highlights. With "Auto Genre Picture Mode," the BRAVIA XR automatically switches to a game mode that complements the PS5, minimizing input lag and significantly enhancing responsiveness. When watching movies with more expressive scenes, the device will revert to the standard mode.
Additionally, a new gaming menu consolidates all game settings in one place on the BRAVIA XR.
In terms of audio, the BRAVIA XR features Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology, where the screen vibrates to become a speaker, ensuring sound emanates from the corresponding position in the scene.
XR Surround creates a surround sound experience with 3D audio, and the BRAVIA XR is also compatible with Dolby Atmos®. Voice Zoom 2 detects and analyzes sound to improve clarity. Advanced filtering suppresses environmental elements, allowing clear audibility of faint TV dialogues.
The BRAVIA XR comes with Acoustic Center Syn mode, which turns compatible BRAVIA and Soundbar into a central speaker, ensuring audio synchronizes with on-screen content.
Through integrated user interface, Soundbar audio settings automatically appear in the BRAVIA's quick settings menu. Users can easily control sound modes and volume using the TV remote, eliminating the need for an audio remote.
The BRAVIA XR's BRAVIA CAM uses position tracking to adjust the left-right sound balance, providing viewers in all positions with the same premium audio quality as if they were sitting in front of the TV. The BRAVIA CAM also detects viewing distance and automatically adjusts Voice Zoom, ensuring clear dialogue audibility as viewers move closer or farther from the TV.
