SONY HT-G700 is a 3.1 system echo wall that uses virtualization to simulate Dolby Atmos and DTS: X effects, while the HT-S20T is a cheaper 5.1 surround sound system.

The flagship HT-ST5000 still has no successor, and instead SONY has added a new echo wall to its lineup.

SONY HT-G700 is a 3.1 channel echo wall with a stereo channel, medium and wireless subwoofer. The company says the focus is on "enabling clear dialogue". The G700 supports Dolby Atmos and DTS: X, and SONY claims that its "vertical surround engine", combined with signal processing, can in some ways simulate a more realistic sound experience. The echo wall supports HDMI eARC/ARC.

Both echo walls support bluetooth music playback.

The SONY HT-G700 and HT-S20R will go on sale in the UK in May 2020 for £450 and £250, and in other European countries for €450 and €250. The SONY HT-G700 will go on sale in the us for $600.
