SONY has unveiled a new middle-end model that will still feature Android TV and features such as AirPlay 2 and HomeKit.

SONY has already introduced new middle-end 4K TVS and plans to release 2020 high-end 8K, 4K LCD and 4K OLED TVS later in the decade.

The two new 8-series models, the XH80 (X800H in the us) and the XH81 (available only in Europe), are technically identical, but have different designs. The XH80 (X800H) will also be available in a maximum size of 85 inches. Both use Google's Android TV platform with built-in Chromecast.

Both come with apple's AirPlay 2 and HomeKit features, which allow you to wirelessly push videos, music or photos from iOS or macOS devices to your TV. HomeKit is Apple's home smart control platform that lets you control certain features of your TV via an iPhone or Siri voice command, and the Apple TV app will be available on some SONY TVS later this year.

The SONY X70 (X750H in the us) is an inexpensive entry-level 4K LCD TV without the Android TV system, and users can still browse some of the most important applications through the built-in Linux platform.

SONY's new middle-end TV will compete with other android TVS such as philips, TCL (Europe) and hisense, while LG and samsung have developed in-house TV operating systems in the form of webOS and Tizen, respectively, while other TV makers are working with Roku or amazon.

SONY said three of its new middle-end TVS were now available in the us and Europe.
