An owner over on AVForums has noticed markings across the top of his HZ2000 that he describes as looking like a torn paper edge. He first spotted them after the set ran one of its long panel maintenance routines, the kind that fires roughly every 1000 hours, and he reckons they've spread over the last few weeks from the top right towards the middle.
My read, for what it's worth, is that the refresh cycle didn't cause this so much as reveal it. Those long routines even out cell wear across the panel, and when one area has aged noticeably faster than the rest, the result of evening things out is that the difference becomes visible on flat scenes instead of hiding under content. The top edge is exactly where you'd expect it on a set that's watched a lot of broadcast TV, since channel logos and status bars live up there. A 2020 flagship has had plenty of hours to get there.
The practical thing to do is stop guessing and start measuring. Put up a full-screen 5 percent grey slide, take a photo from the same spot with the same phone settings, and repeat it monthly. That gives you evidence of whether it's actually progressing or whether you've just started noticing it, and it's the only thing a service centre will engage with. Worth doing before any warranty window closes rather than after.
Has anyone here actually had a uniformity or wear claim accepted on an OLED past the standard warranty? I've read plenty of attempts and very few outcomes.
