The new Apple TV box may come with a new remote control, while the tvOS 14 May include a fitness app and permanent audio output options from the AirPlay 2 speaker.

Upgraded Apple TV hardware
In leaked iOS 14 code obtained by 9to5Mac and MacRumors, they found a reference to the upgraded Apple TV hardware in the tvOS 13.4 beta, and the details are coming out.

Apple TV

The code apparently includes a reference to the new Apple TV remote, but the details are unclear. Users are divided over the current Siri remote control, with some users hating it and others loving it.

The code also contains a reference to the new Fitness application, which may be called Fit or Fitness. It works on Apple TV, iPhone and Apple Watch, and "lets users download instructional videos related to fitness that will guide them through various exercises."

AirPlay 2 audio output improvements

In addition, tvOS 14 will apparently add a new permanent audio output option to the AirPlay 2 speakers so that users can choose HomePod stereo as the default TV speaker.

Apple TV already allows users to wirelessly output TV audio to multiple AirPlay 2 speakers, but if HomePod is used for other tasks, sometimes the connection is lost while the Apple TV is on standby.

The option to set the AirPlay 2 speaker as Apple TV's permanent speaker could also indicate that the company plans to do more in this area, with rumors that the cheaper HomePod has been in the works for some time, and a patent application showing that Apple has explored HomePod 3D surround sound with Apple TV. Currently, Apple TV's AirPlay 2 audio output supports stereo at most.
