Netflix and game publisher Take-Two announced that they will cooperate to produce a "BioShock" movie.
The tweet did not share any more details about the project, but used lines from Andrew Ryan, the builder of BioShock 1's undersea Elysium, as well as the iconic Big Daddy character.
According to Hollywood, the partnership agreement has been in the works for nearly a year and no writers or filmmakers have yet joined the project, which Vertigo Entertainment and Take-Two will produce.
When the BioShock game was released in 2007, it quickly attracted Hollywood interest, and Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski collaborated on it, but it didn't end up being made.
In addition, a fourth installment of the BioShock series is in development, with Cloud Chamber Studios in charge. According to oopsleaks, BioShock 4 will be called "BioShock: Isolation" and will be built using Unreal Engine 5.
