Why are people willing to pay attention to the cut shots of the film?

First of all, I will give you a simple movie term: Shooting Ratio. If the shooting ratio of a movie is 2: 1, it means that the length of the filming material is twice that of the final film.
But generally speaking, the shooting ratio of a movie will not be only 2: 1, how much is it? It depends on the situation analysis.
On the Internet, the SR of the new Mad Max is 240: 1, the Martian rescue is 140: 1, and the Eight Evils is 30: 1.

So for a movie, most of the materials are not available.
These materials are generally not what we usually call "cut shots", but many materials will also enter the final production stage of the movie, but for various reasons, they were deleted before they were released.

The most common reason for the cutback is that when the filming is made in advance, the audience feedback is negative, and the production company chooses to continue to polish.
The production company, in many cases, has the final say. I mentioned in my previous answer that, generally speaking, Hollywood directors do not have "final editing rights", so many times, after a movie is released, there are a lot of bad reviews. Naturally, many director fans will express their dissatisfaction with the studio. There are also some directors who will make protest speeches themselves, arguing that the final effect of the film is inconsistent with their creative thinking. So naturally, many people are curious about what the film should look like, and those shots are cut relentlessly.
This so-called cut-out lens is very common. Often many Hollywood actors (even big names) are cut out. Because of the degree of topicality of these actors, these cut shots and the reasons for cut out are often discussed.

And when it comes back to China, "cutting the lens" more often carries certain special factors. For example, sensitive lenses, bad actors, and even sometimes a leader feels that the dialogue is not logical and has to be corrected.

"Cut shots" often have different sizes in domestic and imported films. Many times similar lenses / themes can appear in domestically produced films, but are deleted in imported films, and vice versa.

Friends who pay close attention to some high-quality film critics from time to time will see some articles, analyze those shots in the imported films, how to delete them, what the deletion and modification methods are, and speculate on the reasons for deletion. Many times from these cut out shots, you can also read out some major changes.

Movie cuts are available all over the world, but Chinese movie cuts are indeed worth studying.
