What TVs are in the 2023 Samsung Neo QLED Lineup?​

At CES 2023, Samsung released a new generation of Neo QLED TVs in 2023. Based on improved Mini-LED technology, the company's new high-end TVs come in 4K and 8K models, both of which feature higher brightness, improved color, and a host of new software features.

8K TV​

Samsung's top-of-the-line Neo QLED TV, the QN900C, features 8K resolution, a QLED panel with 14-bit Mini-LED backlight, and peak brightness of up to 4000 nits. Contrast is also up, thanks to improvements to its 8K Real Depth Enhancer Pro and Shape Adaptive Light algorithms.

Backlight local dimming zones are up from the 36 used in the 2022 8K model to 1,000. Old movies and TV shows are said to look better on Samsung's 2023 Neo QLED TV lineup, thanks to an automatic HDR reshaping algorithm. The algorithm can turn SDR content into HDR for overall improvements in brightness, color and dynamic range.

4K TV​

Also in the lineup is a high-end 4K Neo QLED TV, the QN935C. It features a 4K QLED panel with Mini-LED backlighting, a redesigned power strip, and bezels thinner than 20mm. A new power strip eliminates the need for an external connection box. The new TVs also have speakers on top, so there's no need for a dedicated home theater or sound barrier to get a proper Dolby Atmos experience. These TVs also feature extremely thin bezels and an overall slim profile.

Samsung TVs still lack support for the Dolby Vision HDR format, though. They are HDR10, HDR10+ Adaptive and HLG compatible. AI Sound Reshaping uses AI to reshape the audio associated with each object on the screen so that sounds are clear, ambient sounds are full, and every component has just the right volume level.

These TVs also feature a newer version of Q-Symphony, which uses the TV's Neural Processing Unit to help compatible SOUNDBARs deliver better audio quality.

What are the features of the Samsung Neo QLED TV?​

Matter/ ZigBee hubs​

Samsung's new Neo QLED TV lineup also has built-in Matter and ZigBee hubs, so you don't have to buy a dedicated SmartThings Hub controller. Users can control all smart home devices compatible with SmartThings, Matter and ZigBee from the TV. SmartThings automatically syncs devices added to the Alexa and Google Home apps, so you can control all your smart home devices directly from your TV.

TizenOS​

Samsung's new high-end TVs also come with a newer version of the TizenOS operating system, bringing new features like Chat Together, ConnectTime, and a 3D map view. ConnecTime transfers video calls from other devices such as smartphones to the big screen of your TV. When leaving the TV, the video call will be transferred back to the original device. The 3D map view provides a bird's-eye view of the home and the location of smart home devices in each room, making smart home device control easier.

Gaming Hub​

All of these new TVs feature the Samsung Gaming Hub, with cloud game streaming services like Amazon Luna, Microsoft Xbox Cloud Services, Nvidia GeForce Now, and Utomik. Players can stream in 4K resolution and watch multiple content at the same time. Game Bar 3.0 is an upgraded version of the Game Bar that allows players to see the smallest map of their game on any screen. There is also a Virtual Aimpoint feature that enhances the visibility of the target crosshair in FPS games.

Samsung is making a commitment to the environment and sustainability with its new TVs. These TVs feature an AI power saving mode that automatically reduces the TV's power consumption when not in use. It also replaced 20 percent of the stand parts used in the SolarCell remote (which recharges automatically via ambient light and radio waves) with recycled ocean plastic. Recycled aluminum cans and copper are used for the main components of the remote control board, replacing 12% of the original material.

To manufacture these TVs, Samsung is using lightweight injection molds to reduce overall energy consumption and raw material usage. Samsung is also using more compact packaging and minimal printing on the box to improve the sustainability of its TVs during the packaging and shipping stages.
