ABC News has released a live news app for Android TV and Amazon Fire TV. The newly released native app gives users of these two TV platforms access to 24/7 real-time news, live events and original shows, as well as on-demand clips and documentaries.
On the occasion of this release, as the demand for COVID-19 information continues to grow, immediate updates have become critical.
The ABC News Live app will provide viewers with ABC News special reports and important COVID-19 updates, including programs such as "Popularity: What You Need to Know". The American Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) said the app will broadcast up to 18 hours of live, regular news programs every year this year.
The new ABC News Live app for Android TV and Amazon Fire TV has also redesigned the interface with breaking news alerts and updated programming guides. The redesigned product will be launched on Roku and Apple TV in mid-April.
ABC News Live is currently available on Roku, Hulu Live, Xumo, Sling TV, Facebook, Twitter, ABCNews.com, and ABC News and ABC mobile apps. The new update will also include changes to the ABC News Live brand on the connected TV platform.
