Themed “Boundless”, the 2025 Laser Display Technology and Industry Development Conference was held in grand fashion. As a global leader in laser display technology, Hisense announced it will gradually open more than 1,300 core patents in tri-color laser technology to the industry, aiming to accelerate the adoption of laser display products. At the same event, Hisense unveiled three groundbreaking products:
The 150-inch X1 Ultra represents the pinnacle of today’s high-end home entertainment. As the world’s largest laser TV, it features IMAX theater-grade technology, dual custom MCL39 laser engines, and an SST-architecture DMD chip. Together, these deliver 110% BT.2020 cinematic color coverage with ΔE<0.6 color accuracy.
For sound, Hisense partnered with Harman Kardon to fine-tune hardware and software, while a 9.1.4-channel screen-sound system creates an immersive cinematic experience rivaling professional theaters. Certified by the China Research Institute of Film Science & Technology, it is currently the only TV recognized as a “home cinema projection device,” signaling that the IMAX experience has officially entered living rooms.
Another highlight is the 100-inch rollable laser cinema R1, a disruptive innovation that redefines the relationship between display technology and living space. Using the industry-first “Lingyun Roll Screen System”, which combines an ultra-thin flexible Fresnel film with a carbon-fiber frame, the screen maintains over 99% flatness even after 10,000 rolls, breaking the world record for large-screen rollable displays.
The R1 offers seamless transformation between “cinema when raised, art when hidden.” Its main unit is 55% smaller than the first-generation model, featuring an embedded design, Devialet acoustic tuning, and an 8.2.2-channel sound system that balances superior image quality with high-fidelity audio.
The R1 is a limited edition of 1,000 units, each with an exclusive titanium laser-engraved nameplate, priced at 99,000 RMB (approx. $13,600).
For home theater enthusiasts, the Vidda C5 Infinity is the most powerful 4K tri-laser projector Hisense has ever built. With significant upgrades in brightness, lens shift, and cooling, it delivers a best-in-class cinematic experience for serious movie lovers.
The simultaneous debut of these three products reflects not only Hisense’s deep accumulation of laser technology but also China’s innovation in advanced manufacturing. As of 2025, Hisense has secured over 1,300 authorized patents in laser display and contributed to more than 60 national and industry standards, maintaining its position as the global leader.
Recent milestones include the successful mass production of the first nano spectral selective screen by Hisense’s subsidiary HiFi Optical Materials, pushing laser TV brightness beyond 1,000 nits for the first time. In addition, the establishment of a national key laboratory at Hisense further strengthens the company’s research foundation.
At the conference, Li Wei, President of Hisense Visual Technology, announced the company’s commitment to opening its 1,300+ tri-color laser patents to the entire industry.
This move positions Hisense not only as a pioneer in laser display technology but also as an enabler of the wider ecosystem, fostering collaboration across the entire value chain and driving global market growth.
By opening patents and releasing three breakthrough products, Hisense is reshaping the rules of the industry and setting new benchmarks for home entertainment. The “Boundless” vision signals a transformation: China is evolving from a follower in display technology to a global standard-setter.
With laser display emerging as a trillion-yuan industry, Hisense’s innovation is not only reshaping the world of displays but also defining the standards for the next-generation home entertainment ecosystem worldwide.
