At present, projectors are mainly divided into three categories: 3LCD projectors, DLP projectors and CRT projectors. The following is the imaging principle of LCD projection technology.
LCD projection technology
LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) projector is divided into two types: LCD panel projector and LCD light valve projector. Liquid crystal is a substance between liquid and solid. It does not emit light, and its working property is greatly affected by temperature. Its working temperature is -55c ~+77C. The projector makes use of the photoelectric effect of liquid crystal, that is, the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules changes under the action of electric field, which affects the transmittance or reflectance of its liquid crystal unit, thus affecting its optical properties and producing images with different gray levels and colors.
The imaging device is a liquid crystal panel, which is a passive projection mode. Use external light source metal halide lamp or UHP (cold light source). According to the number of LCD panel, LCD projector is divided into three chip machine and single chip microcomputer.

The principle of the three-piece LCD board projector is that the optical system passes the strong light through the spectroscope to form RGB three beams of light, which are transmitted through the RGB three-color LCD board respectively. The signal source is modulated and added to the liquid crystal board after AD conversion. By controlling the opening and closing of the liquid crystal unit, the light path is controlled. The RGB light is finally gathered in the prism and projected on the screen by the projection lens to form a color image. At present, three - panel projector is the main type of LCD projector.
Single chip LCD
Small size, light weight, easy to operate and carry, low price. But its light source life is short, the color is not even enough, the resolution is low. At present the model of veneer projector has been very few. From the image quality, the performance of the MCU is much inferior to the three - chip machine.
