How long will Toshiba TVs last?

Like any electronic device, smart TVs don't last forever. Although these TVs have many internal moving parts, the LEDs in their backlights are almost always the first to burn out. You can expect your TV to operate at maximum brightness for 40,000 to 60,000 hours.

Note that the backlight may burn out more quickly at maximum brightness, so you must reduce the brightness to 75% or less. The visual image may look dull at first, but your eyes will adjust to it within a day or so.

Toshiba TVs are sturdily constructed and will last for nearly a decade, but they still require proper care and maintenance. If you mount your TV on a wall, make sure there is enough room for air to flow behind it to avoid heat damage.

It is also important to get into the habit of turning off your TV when you are not watching anything. This will greatly extend its lifespan as the LEDs will not burn out unnecessarily. It's also important to limit the amount of data you share on your Smart TV so it's harder for hackers to break into the Smart TV's encryption and tamper with your settings.
