Regarding how to load the application signature and side loading to Apple TV 4K, there are some changes. Everyone is very interested. Now that we need to know how to load the application signature and side loading to AppleTV4K, I will bring you a specific situation.

How to load application signature and side load to Apple TV 4K

Since there is no USB-C port to connect it to a computer, the Apple TV 4K is firmly a nasty product, and Apple doesn't want to cause you trouble. However, although it is easier to put your own application on the older Apple TV 4, you can still sign and sideload the application on 4K.

The first thing to note is that if you are an Apple TV 4 user, you do not need to do this. The process is very complicated (at least for the first time), and although it works well on Apple TV 4, it is meaningless to use Cydia Impactor only for a short time. To do this, follow steps 1-6 of our other guide and replace any references to LiberTV with the apps of your choice for side loading.

Apple TV 4K users, please continue reading.

Prerequisites

The following prerequisite steps need only be performed once. Once all settings are completed, there is no need to repeat them. If you have followed these steps before and the application is already loaded, you can skip to how to sign the application.
Before you begin, you must have:
1) Mac computer, Hackintosh or a computer running macOS in a virtual machine.
2) Xcode, you can download it for free from the Mac App Store.
3) The app for the signer of the iOS app is freely available from the official website.
4) Register your Apple ID as a free developer account, you can quickly do this on the Apple Developer portal.
5) Added your Apple ID in Xcode's "Preferences", which can be used to sign the application.
6) Pair the computer with Apple TV 4K so that you can connect to it using Xcode. You can do this easily by following Apple ’s guidelines on the subject.

How to sign the application

If you know that your app is signed and you only want to load it into the Apple TV 4K sideways, you can skip to how to load the app sideways. Examples of this include saved apps that you previously signed with iOS App Signer and only need to be pushed to the device again, and apps that were pre-signed by others using valid certificates you wish to use.

  • If you do not know what this means, or if you are not sure whether your application is signed, you should assume that the application is not signed, and then follow the instructions in this section.

The first step will be to create a certificate and provisioning profile to sign it. Readers who have paid developer accounts can create these accounts under the certificate, identifier, and configuration files on the Apple developer website. However, it ’s strange that readers with free developer accounts ca n’t do this. Therefore, I recommend the following method, which I find easier:

1) Start Xcode.
Under Xcode, Preferences, Account, check if the Apple ID has been added. This is used to sign our application. If not, press + to add an account, select Apple ID, and log in.
2) Now, select "File", "New Project", "tvOS", "Single View App" in the menu bar.
3) Now enter the project details. The name of the product should usually be the name of the lateral load application, such as Cody. The name of the organization may be literally anything. The organization identifier is usually integrated. It is followed by some personal strings that you can use for all applications, such as com.idownloadblog.
A bundle identifier will be automatically generated from those two fields. In the example above, my bundle identifier is com.idownloadblog.kodi. Yours will be different. The team should be that you added the Apple ID in step 1) above.
4) After opening the project, configure as shown below. Make sure to select a specific Apple TV 4K device in the upper left corner, not a normal device. For this, it must be connected to your computer via the same Wi-Fi network.
The identity field should be automatically populated from the information in step 3). The signature field must have your Apple ID selected and shows no errors. Under "Deployment Target", select the current firmware version of Apple TV 4K.
When doing this, Xcode should automatically create a configuration file and certificate for your application / device, which you can see in the "Signature" section above.
You can now exit Xcode.
5) Start the iOS app signer. Drag the application you want to log into the "Input file" field.
Under "Sign Certificate", select the Apple ID you used in Xcode (from step 1)). For Provisioning Profile, select the profile that Xcode automatically generated for you. It may have the bundle identifier created using the Xcode project in step 3), for example com.idownloadblog.kodi.
Other fields can be ignored. Click "Start", and then save the now signed application to your desktop.
If you need to load this app again in the future, please save it on your computer. This will avoid repeating certain guidelines next time.
6) Repeat steps 2) -5) for any other applications you want to download. Remember to change the details in the Xcode project and iOS App Signer every time to match the application used, Apple ID and Apple TV unit.
You can now side-load the application to Apple TV 4K.

How to load apps sideways

1) After preparing the signed application, start Xcode, and then select "Window", "Device" and "Emulator" from the menu bar.
Make sure your Apple TV 4K is connected and highlighted in the sidebar.
2) Click the + button to add an application. Select signed applications from the desktop (or where they are saved) to load them sideways to Apple TV 4K.
3) The application should now appear on the Apple TV home screen. Quit Xcode and enjoy the side-loaded application on Apple TV 4K.
