In 2022, the gege TV brands have all released their new TVs. Here I summarize the new trends in the TV market in 2022 for you, as a reference when purchasing TVs.

1. Popularization of Mini LED technology

As a transitional technology for the development of Micro LED, Mini LED is relatively mature. There are more and more brands launching related models this year. Compared with traditional LED TVs, the advantages are still obvious, and compared with OLEDs, they also have their own advantages. The most important thing is that the current cost is relatively advantageous.

In addition to OLED, Mini LED is also a good choice for high-end TVs. At present, major TV manufacturers have begun to launch Mini LED related products one after another. Sony finally opened its own Mini LED product line in 2022. Both the 4K resolution X95J and the 8K resolution Z9K will use Mini LED technology.

2. QD-OLED technology launched

The current OLED TV panels are all from LG, that is, WOLED products. The product has high contrast, but the color display will be less saturated at high brightness. Samsung's QD-OLED products solve these problems well, with high brightness and excellent saturation, good viewing angles, and more vivid colors. Of course, the current cost of QD-OLED is relatively high.

3. HDMI2.1 becomes standard

The era of HDMI 2.1 has arrived, and this is an important TV performance point worth paying attention to for console gamers. In order to be better compatible with next-generation game consoles, or even used with PCs, when choosing an OLED TV, you must pay attention to whether it has an HDMI 2.1 interface.

The biggest difference between HDMI 2.1 and version 2.0 is that it supports larger data transmission capacity. The new version supports data transmission up to 48 Gbps, which is more than twice the data transmission capacity of HDMI 2.0. The increase in bandwidth enables HDMI 2.1 to transmit more information, which also means that images transmitted via HDMI 2.1 will have higher resolutions and higher frame rates.

Summary

The continuous reduction of panels has led to a rebound in the price of TV products. At the same time, there has been a large increase in Mini LED products, and high-end TV products have also increased a lot of choices in addition to OLED. HDMI 2.1 has become the standard for new TVs, and the number of configurations has gradually increased. Samsung's QD-OLED products will soon usher in mass production products, and high-end OLEDs will have a better picture quality experience.
