Fire TV is better

The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max was originally priced at about $55, but now you can get it for less than $35 during the Black Friday TV Box deal. Compared to its competitors, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max features 1080p, 4K, Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+ image display, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and better system processing ability.

In a nutshell, if you have enough budget, Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is a better choice. If you want to save money, onn. Android TV UHD Streaming Device is a great TV streaming box with a great price/performance ratio.

Picture & Audio

One of the biggest concerns is the quality of the image display on the TV box. onn. Android TV UHD Streaming Device and Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max both support 4K display. Unfortunately, onn Android TV UHD only supports UHD images and Dolby Audio standards. This means you can't get any HDR image quality for darker black tones, Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos. Is it necessary to buy a TV box that supports Dolby Atmos? Better yet, yes.

By contrast, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max has the best A/V combo with HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision video standards, and Dolby Atmos audio standards. Unfortunately, however, it does not suppport DTS audio. Alternatively, you can find the usual video codecs here, with one important addition: AV1 support.

All in all, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is a real winner when it comes to audio and video, and you'll notice the detailed differences between them as you use your TV streamer.

Connectivity

Both TV streamers are simple and easy to use when it comes to connectivity. The onn. Android TV UHD has an HDMI port for connecting to the TV and a microUSB port for charging. It is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 and Wifi 802.11 ac, so you can connect it to the TV, external devices and networks wirelessly, but the transmission performance is average.

If a direct connection is not possible or convenient, you can use the included extender cable. Importantly, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is equipped with the best Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 6 802.11 ax. This is one of the most important updates to Amazon Fire Stick Max.

Simply put, 802.11ax is 4 to 10 times faster than 802.11ac, and the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is at the best level of connectivity for a TV box. But the onn. Android TV UHD Streaming Device has Chromecast for casting, while Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max does not. Therefore, the onn. Android TV UHD Streaming Device has a easier mirroring function.

Remote

The onn. Android TV UHD Streaming Device and Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max come with a black and cream design remote control, respectively, and both support voice control.

The Walmart onn. Android TV UHD comes with a white plastic remote control with the TV's volume and power buttons, as well as Google Smart Assistant buttons for voice commands and a microphone, in addition to all the usual controls on the Onn box itself. Since it uses infrared light, you can also configure it to control certain bars and A/V receivers.

System and Streaming

These two TV streaming boxes from different brands actually both run on Android. Amazon's Fire Stick comes with the Fire OS operating system based on Android, but it doesn't have any Google apps or services, while Walmart Streaming comes with Android 10. This means that as a user, you are limited to getting apps in Amazon's Appstore and don't have access to Google's apps or Google services. If you're familiar with Amazon and Google's interfaces, you'll also find that they each have their own characteristics. Comparatively speaking, Google's Android page is easier to use.

You can find mainstream entertainment services on these two TV streamers, but they have their own characteristics. Black Friday TV Box Streaming Deal: Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K

After comparing, my personal verdict is to go with the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max. In Black Friday 2022, you will find that the price of the Amazon Fire Stick has dropped to around $30. That's really a great deal! I'm sure you can all live with that price, right?

May Be Discontinued: Walmart onn. Android TV UHD Streaming

Although the onn. Android TV UHD Streaming Device is really cheap, you can even see it on sale for a little over a dozen dollars. However, Walmart's 4K streaming specs are at the entry level and there is talk that Walmart is ready to discontinue the product. I believe you can get the Amazon Fire Stick with 4K Resolution, HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision for an extra ten dollars.

Not all of them are perfect, and you can check out the more expensive Apple streaming products in the Amazon Fire Stick vs Apple TV 4K 2022 comparison.

Thanks for the comparison! The Android TV box streaming device has been gaining attention for its low price. This Walmart 4K TV box is a real bargain!

However, its specs are not very good and are only barely acceptable. If I were you, I would want to spend a little more money to get a better streaming box. The Amazon Firestick is not that expensive, but it's better equipped.

If more budget, I would prefer the Apple TV 4K 3rd generation coming in 2022.
