The PS VR2 headset is similar in shape to the PS VR2Sense controller, with a matching "spherical" design. The circular sphere represents the 360-degree view that the player feels when entering the virtual reality world, which is our inspiration for the design.
The design of the PS VR2 headset was also inspired by the look of the PS5 lineup. When the design team designed the PS5 console, they were thinking about how to design a new generation of VR equipment at the time. Therefore, it is not difficult to find some similarities in appearance and feel. To make sure it's designed to be comfortably in hand for extended periods of time, the PS VR2 headset is designed with more emphasis on roundness. This design can also be seen on the DualSense wireless controller and Pulse 3D headset.
