The levels in Pokémon GO are very important. These allow you to unlock certain game mechanics as well as new items for your adventure. There are several ways to get experience like arenas or PokéStops .
Your level will not only allow you to unlock new options in the game (including fighting in arena at level 5), objects (new free incubators for example) but also to meet more powerful Pokémon and capture them more easily.
A hard-to-capture Pokémon with a red circle around it could become just moderately complicated to capture with a few more levels.
Note that the higher your level, the more the maximum number of CP for your Pokémon also increases . For example, if your Rattata can only have 200 CP when you are level 3, it can go higher if you gain levels.
