Redmi X 2022 has released in October 2021. Redmi X series smart TV launched in May 2020 which supports both wide color gamut and motion compensation, and at a very low price, so it's still popular today. Will the new product this year be better? Let's see the review.

1. Appearance

Redmi X 2022adopts the popular full-screen four-sided narrow bezel design with the common mid-range outward opening eight-sided kickstand. The main body of the bezel is painted silver-gray, and the kickstand is painted black. The bezel is the same as its predecessor, still made of metal, but based on cost-saving considerations, the stitching process is used.

The kickstand is not heavy, but can be found in metal, should be aluminum.

2. Hardware Configuration

Compared to its predecessor, the hardware configuration of this new product has made certain upgrades. For example, the SOC upgrade, from A53 dual-core + A73 dual-core upgrade to the mainstream MTK 9650-A73 quad-core 1.3GHZ processor, running memory to 3GB, supports HDMI 2.1 port, etc.

In addition, this model supports decoding of Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG.

Interfaces

Because the MTK 9650 supports two HDMI 2.0 and one HDMI 2.1 and two USB 2.0, the Redmi X 2022 is no more special and supports the eARC interface.

3. Game console adaptability

The Redmi X 2022 was advertised as a "gaming TV", so I did a test in this area, covering four areas: input latency, 4K 120HZ clarity, auto low latency mode for PS5 and XSX, and VRR.

Input Latency

At 1080p 60HZ, the input delay is 13.8 ms.

4K 60HZ, input latency 13.6 ms.

Input latency 5.6 ms at 1080p 120HZ.

The results are very good, do not worry about feeling the operating delay when playing games.

4K 120HZ signal input clarity

Actual test 3070 graphics card and PS5 for 4K 120hz signal input, no degradation in clarity.

Automatic low latency mode for PS5 and XSX

The Redmi X 2022 supports ALLM, so it can automatically switch to the game mode when connected to the XSX.

This model also has a special adaptation for the PS5's Auto Game Mode, which automatically switches the game mode when accessing the PS5, eliminating the need for manual switching.

VRR test

Main test Free-sync and G-sync, this model passed the Free-sync Premium certification, XSX can also test through, but this model does not support G-sync, the test shows that it can open the compatibility mode, but the pendulum test does not pass, still tearing problem occurs.

Also when connected to XSX, it shows that 50HZ is not supported for gaming.
