Earlier this year, Samsung launched its flagship 98-inch 8K TV priced at 49.9 million South Korean won (approximately $38,368). This massive TV promises an unparalleled viewing experience with its cutting-edge technology.

TCL, on the other hand, recently announced that its 98-inch TV utilizes a VA panel manufactured by its subsidiary, China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT). The TV also boasts TCL's independently developed HVA technology, along with Samsung's Quantum Dot MiniLED technology and proprietary picture quality control, which collectively deliver top-of-the-line performance.

Notably, CSOT's 98-inch 4K panels have been extensively adopted by brands like Samsung, Sony, TCL, Xiaomi, Changhong, and Haier. TCL claims that its display panels effectively alleviate eye fatigue, making viewing more comfortable.

TCL's CSOT division takes pride in its global achievements in the TV display panel market. With the highest global shipment volume for 55-inch, 75-inch, and 98-inch TV panels and the top market share for 144Hz+ gaming screens, CSOT has established itself as a leader in the field.

The 98-inch panels have a production advantage over 100-inch panels. While both G8.5 and G8.6 generations of TCL's production lines can economically cut 98-inch LCD screens, the 100-inch panels can only be cut by the G8.6 generation line, resulting in weaker production capacity compared to the 98-inch counterparts.

The upcoming Samsung 98-inch 8K TV, possibly named QN900C, will soon hit more markets. It features a VA-based Mini-LED screen with Quantum Dot technology, delivering a peak brightness of 4000 nits.

The QNC990/QN900C boasts 8K resolution, HDR10+, variable refresh rate of 144Hz, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and hundreds of local dimming zones. Moreover, the TV is equipped with an anti-glare coating, and Samsung collaborates with Pantone to achieve precise color calibration.

This TV comes with a 6.4.4 channel speaker system, outputting a powerful 120W of sound. It runs on the Tizen operating system and supports features like AirPlay 2, Dolby Atmos, Bixby, Samsung Game Center, Game Bar, Ultra-wide Game View, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2.

As technology continues to advance, consumers can look forward to even more remarkable developments in the TV industry, offering immersive entertainment experiences like never before.
