If you've gone to the trouble of covering the viewing area walls and ceiling in triple black velvet, the light rejecting screen might be working against you rather than for you. That's my one question about this 7.7.4 build, and I mean it as a genuine question because everything else about it reads like someone who did their homework.
The reasoning: ALR and CLR materials buy contrast in a room with uncontrolled light by throwing away light from the wrong angles. Once the room is properly blacked out there's no stray light left to reject, so you're paying that penalty for nothing and often taking on some viewing angle and uniformity quirks as well. A plain white surface in a velvet lined room will usually hand you more brightness and a cleaner image. It's possible the open connection to the larger basement makes it the right call anyway, and if so I'd like to hear it, because that's an interesting exception.
Seven subwoofers is the headline for me though. In a 10 by 14 nook that opens into a bigger space, a multi sub array is the only realistic way to get consistent bass across more than one seat, and most people give up long before seven. Sitting 12 feet from a 145 inch screen at 45 to 50 degrees is also a much saner number than what a lot of new builds land on.
Three and a half years, mostly used gear, in a room that still has to be a basement. What went in last, and what would you redo first?
