Those two zone counts are the whole story of this range and they are worth sitting with for a second. Xiaomi's TV FX mini LED series went on sale in India in June across 43, 55, 65 and 75 inches, with the series opening at 29,999 rupees, and the dimming zone count runs from 36 on the smallest up to 104 on the largest. I have not seen a published figure for the 65-inch specifically, so I am not going to guess at one.
104 zones across a 75-inch panel works out to a fairly coarse grid. That is not a scandal at this money, but it does mean the phrase mini LED is doing more marketing work than engineering work here. You will get better contrast control than a plain edge-lit LED and you will still see haloing around bright objects on a dark field, because there is nowhere near enough resolution in the backlight to avoid it. Anyone expecting the behaviour they have read about on sets with ten times the zone count is going to be disappointed by their own expectations rather than by the TV.
The rest reads sensibly for the price. QD layer, up to 93 percent DCI-P3, HDR10+, HLG and a Filmmaker Mode, Fire TV built in with Alexa and AirPlay 2. No Dolby Vision, and the 120Hz is a game mode rather than a native panel refresh, which on sets in this class usually means a line-doubling trick that trades vertical resolution for the higher rate.
For a bright living room in the 55 to 65 inch bracket at this price it looks like a reasonable buy. Anyone in India actually got one in front of them yet?
