Can I play the game I bought on Xbox One on Xbox Series X

If I buy a new Xbox Series X, can I play the game I bought on Xbox One? Or I need to buy another copy

For games sold only on X1, XSX fully supports downward compatibility, so games purchased on X1 can be played directly from XSX as a download, including downward compatible Xbox 360 and first-generation Xbox games.
