LG Display's 2-stack WOLED claims 82.5% BT.2020 - up from 76.5% with fewer layers

This is the one to watch if you have been waiting for OLED pricing to stop being silly. LG Display has spent a decade stacking more emissive layers on - three in the mainstream panels, four in the Primary RGB Tandem stuff at the top - and the new panel goes the other way and drops to two.

The interesting part is not the layer count, it is that the gamut went up anyway. FlatpanelsHD has the figures at roughly 82.5% of BT.2020 against 76.5% for the current three-stack design. Normally you shed stacks and pay for it in brightness or lifespan. LGD's answer is a new blue emitter plus splitting the old yellow-green layer into separate red and green components, and they have moved the optical position of the layers to cut colour shift when you view off axis.

The other number worth noting is voltage - more than four volts below the current design. That means less heat, a smaller power supply, and savings that go beyond the panel itself. LGD says it is aiming this at affordable TVs and monitors rather than another flagship, which is the right call and not what I expected.

What I cannot find anywhere is a peak brightness figure, and that is the number that decides whether this is a real alternative or just a budget panel with a nice gamut chart. They say performance is comparable to the three-stack at 6500K and 10000K, which is a careful way of not saying nits. Worth remembering this is Korean press reporting rather than a product announcement, too.

Has anyone seen an actual brightness figure attached to this panel? Because 82.5% BT.2020 on a dim screen is a spec sheet, not a picture.
