Android Authority has collected the reports: YouTube version 1.2.15 on webOS appears to trip the screensaver whenever the video isn't a standard 16:9 frame. Shorts, vertical uploads, old 4:3 material, even wider 2:1 content. The audio keeps playing the whole time, and any button press brings the picture straight back, which tells you playback never actually stopped.
It's not just the main app. YouTube TV users report the same thing every few minutes while in multiview. Most of the reports involve CX sets and some BX OLEDs, though nobody has established whether that's the actual scope or just which owners are loudest online.
The workaround LG support has been handing out is a full power drain: off, unplug, hold the physical power button for thirty seconds, plug back in. One user says that fixed it and others say it did nothing, which is roughly what you'd expect from a fix that isn't addressing the cause. LG has since pushed YouTube v1.2.16 and YouTube TV v1.1.13, both with no release notes at all, and fresh complaints are still turning up, so it's genuinely unclear whether the fix is in those builds or people just haven't updated.
