Someone spotted a Bravia 6 product page live on Sony's own site and posted the link before it vanishes again. The only thing it actually nails down is that there is an 83 inch model in the line. No pricing, no launch window anyone has quoted, and nothing about panel or processing that I would repeat until Sony says it out loud.
An 83 inch OLED sitting in a numbered tier below the flagship is still the interesting bit. That size has spent most of its life as a halo item with halo pricing, and every time it slides down a rung it drags the 77 inch bracket along with it. If the 6 lands where the numbering suggests, the real question is what gets cut to get there. Historically the mid tier sets inherit the previous flagship's processing while giving up the brightness ceiling and some of the audio hardware, and that trade has been the smarter buy more often than not. The Bravia 8 II and Bravia 9 threads here are full of people who worked out that last year's flagship at a discount beats this year's step-down at full price.
What I want to know before anyone gets excited is whether an 83 inch panel in this tier is the same generation of glass as the smaller sizes. Sony has shipped lines before where the biggest size sat on something different, and it tends to show up in near-black uniformity rather than in anything a spec sheet bothers to list.
Did anyone else get the page loaded before it went? I am curious whether other sizes were listed alongside the 83, because that would tell us more than the 83 does on its own.
