The full name of ULED is Ultra-LED, which has been developed by Hisense. It is through the backlight partition technology, peak brightness technology, and backlight scan control technology, improve the LCD TV screen display quality.

Simply put, ULED TVs have certain zoned light control capabilities, but a TV with zoned light control is not necessarily a ULED TV.

Although ULED is also known as a marketing term created by Hisense, it does have the advantages of improved display, wide color gamut and high contrast ratio compared to ordinary LED TVs without zoned backlight function.

The disadvantages of ULED TVs are concentrated in the following three areas.

1. ULED is a straight-down LED TV, the backlight module is generally thicker.

2. ULED TVs generally use VA screens, the picture trailing, weak color expression and other problems are more prominent.

3. Compared to ordinary LED TVs, ULED TVs are priced a little higher.
