Hey everyone,
I’m currently using a VIVIDSTORM S PRO Floor Rising Screen (UST ALR), and I’m really happy with the setup. The screen quality is top-notch — sharp, high contrast, and great ambient light rejection for my living room setup.
Now I’m looking to upgrade my projector and I’ve narrowed it down to two models from NexiGo:
NexiGo Aurora Pro Ultra Short Throw Laser Projector
NexiGo Aurora Pro MKII UST Tri-Color Laser Projector
I’ve looked at the specs, and both seem impressive — tri-color laser, ALPD RGB Plus, Dolby Vision, etc. But I’m struggling to understand what real-world differences I might see between the two. The MKII is obviously more expensive — is the upgrade really noticeable when paired with a high-end screen like the S PRO?
I mostly use the setup for movies, sports, and some casual gaming. Room has decent light control, but the ALR screen makes a big difference already.
So I guess my main question is:
Has anyone tried either (or both) of these projectors with the VIVIDSTORM S PRO?
Is the MKII worth the extra cost? Or is the original Aurora Pro already a great match?
Would love to hear your thoughts before I pull the trigger!
Thanks
