Hello~

Upgrading my $350 shitty TV, and can't justify having a shitty $100 soundbar anymore. The easier to get into it is the Klipsch 5.1.2 set, but obviously all of you rightfully say it's dogsh!t.

Could you please help us with recommendations for an entry-level 5.1.2 Atmos w/ receiver (in the US), probably going from readily-available eBay 2nd hand, for $1000-1500-1800 all-in? I know how to run wire, not a problem, but there are so many choices out there and marketing bs out there, and omegle xender y'all really know your stuff. Floor standing to the two fronts would probably be preferable if able, my tv stand is way small.

Sitting 12.5' from the TV. Wall on the left is only a few feet away, and there's no wall on the right - it goes into the dining room and then kitchen.

Hey there! It's great that you're looking to upgrade your TV and sound system. With your budget and preferences in mind, here are some recommendations for an entry-level 5.1.2 Atmos setup with a receiver:

  1. Receiver: For a solid receiver that won't break the bank, consider the Denon AVR-X1600H or the Yamaha RX-V6A. Both offer excellent performance, support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and plenty of connectivity options.
  2. Front Speakers: Since floor-standing speakers are preferable for your setup, you might want to check out the Polk Audio T50 or the Klipsch R-610F. Both offer good sound quality and are relatively affordable, making them a great choice for entry-level setups.
  3. Center Speaker: For the center channel, consider the Polk Audio CS10 or the Klipsch R-52C. Both provide clear dialogue and complement the front speakers nicely.
  4. Surround Speakers: Opt for bookshelf speakers for the surround channels, such as the Polk Audio T15 or the Klipsch R-41M. These speakers deliver immersive surround sound without taking up too much space.
  5. Atmos Speakers: To complete the Atmos setup, you'll need upward-firing or ceiling-mounted speakers. The Polk Audio OWM3 or the Klipsch RP-500SA are versatile options that can be mounted on the wall or placed on top of existing speakers to bounce sound off the ceiling.
  6. Subwoofer: Don't forget about the bass! A good subwoofer can make a big difference in your audio experience. Consider the Polk Audio PSW10 or the Klipsch R-12SW for deep, impactful bass.
With these components, you'll have a solid entry-level 5.1.2 Atmos setup that delivers immersive sound for movies, TV shows, and games. Be sure to shop around and compare prices to find the best deals within your budget. And don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions along the way. Happy shopping and enjoy your new setup!
