The Samsung S95C QD-OLED TV, Samsung's flagship 4K TV model launched in 2023, is one of the most noteworthy OLeds this year. And Sony A95K, one of last year's most popular OLED TVS, has amazing picture quality. Let's take a look at the differences between the two TVs.

Samsung S95C vs Sony A95K: Design

Samsung's S95C QD-OLED TV is an upgrade to last year's S95B, the company's second attempt at QD-OLED and a significant upgrade to the technology. Compared to its predecessor, the Samsung S95C is brighter and has an updated design.

The S95C uses the same LaserSlim design as the S95B. The slim bezel includes the screen, and the TV panel will be thinner than before. Meanwhile, larger size options will be available this year. In addition to the 55" and 65", Samsung will also add a 77 "model.

Another design highlight of the S95C is the addition of the One Connect box, through which you can integrate all your inputs into the same location. This design will reduce the danger and clutter of redundant cables and make your home entertainment center more simple and beautiful.

The Sony A95K has a simple and stylish design. It is only available in 55" and 65" sizes. The A95K isn't particularly thin for an OLED panel, and the plastic chassis on the back thickens the TV but can be used to manage cables.

The A95K has a unique stand design that allows the all-in-one stand to support the TV panel firmly. When you place it on the back of the panel, the legs are barely visible from the front, making it look like the entire screen is standing on a tabletop. Alternatively, you can flip the stand to the front of the TV so the screen is as close to the wall as possible.

Samsung S95C vs Sony A95K: Picture Quality

Samsung's S95C OLED TV delivers excellent graphics, and the QD-OLED technology combines the properties of a quantum dot filter and OLED panel to produce excellent contrast while improving color.

According to Samsung, the 2023 OLED screen will be 30% brighter than previous models, with a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits. The new Quantum HDR OLED Plus algorithm can control the light output through a single pixel to achieve a high-brightness display. The S95C uses the latest Neural Quantum Processor 4K, which can render richer and truer colors through AI-assisted perception color mapping.

Compared to its first-generation QD OLED panel, the S95C is said to have a much higher panel life expectancy and lower power consumption despite improved image performance.

The Sony A95K's image quality is impressive, and the benefits of QD-OLED are evident, with more color and detail packed into the bright image.

The A95K's brightness is excellent in OLED, but the S95C will be brighter than that. SONY's image processing has always been excellent, and the A95 TV is powered by the Cognitive Processor XR, which enhances color and improves contrast, taking full advantage of QD OLED panel technology. The new Depth Map feature recognizes and enhances approaching objects while suppressing the background, making the image more vivid and realistic.

Samsung S95C vs Sony A95K: System

Samsung Tizen OS system.jpg

A good TV can't live without a smart operating system. The two TVS run on different smart platforms, each with its own advantages.

Samsung S95C's Tizen Smart Platform is an iteration of the previous version, introducing Tizen 7.0. It has not changed much in the user interface, running fast and easy to find content. It comes with most of the usual streaming services, and you can also download other apps from Samsung's App Store.

Samsung S95C vs Sony A95K: Game Features

The Samsung S95C OLED is a very gamer-friendly TV with good gaming performance. It supports a 144Hz refresh rate when connected to a gaming PC, and the graphics displayed on the screen are crisp and vibrant. It supports ALLM, HDMI VRR, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and G-Sync, which can provide a satisfying gaming experience.

Four HDMI 2.1 inputs enable users to connect to multiple high-bandwidth devices.

The Sony A95K is also good at gaming, with a variable refresh rate (VRR) and Automatic Low Latency mode (ALLM), but it could be better. Of the four HDMI ports, only two support HDMI 2.1, one of which is also an IRC port. If you need it for a bar speaker or AV receiver, you'll be left with just an HDMI 2.1 input.

If you want a TV that isn't 55 or 65 inches, you'll have to look elsewhere because the Sony A95K is only available in those two sizes.

The Sony A95K has a plethora of inputs to complement its high-end A/V capabilities, but gamers who own an eARC-enabled soundbar will have to forego one of the TV's two HDMI 2.1 ports to use it.
