According to Sony, Netflix app support on these devices will continue until February 2024. Post this date, the app will no longer be accessible. However, users are advised they can still watch Netflix through "alternative methods, such as using a set-top box or connecting their computer via HDMI."

Netflix has been progressively phasing out support for older devices. In 2019, the streaming giant announced the discontinuation of support for various older TV platforms. As of October this year, devices like Sony PlayStation Vita handhelds, PlayStation Vita TV streaming boxes, and several older Samsung and Panasonic TVs have also lost compatibility with the Netflix app. This move aligns with the industry trend of prioritizing newer technologies and ensuring a seamless and secure user experience.
