We have a Samsung TV in our house for many years and the quality is very good.

However, since my son joined, we have a movie night every Friday. I find that the projector will be more eye-friendly than the TV. I bought a 4K projector, a new one this year, the Dangbei Mars Pro. To my surprise, the picture quality is amazing, especially when you project a really big screen.

I usually just project it on the white wall. When my son walks up to the projector, it automatically turns off the laser, so this doesn't harm my son's eyes, and I love that.

Because the AU8000 only has an edge-lit LCD panel, contrast will be lower than on the company's more expensive models. It, too, has a refresh rate of 60Hz, but it uses Samsung's Motion Xcelerator technology to simulate a faster refresh rate.

The BU8000's native 4K content doesn't seem to look as sharp as what we usually see on Samsung TVs.
